I led the development of a very complex system for managing all aspects of a local transportation network, also known as a smart highway. Our hardware and software allows the traffic manager to correlate video cameras with real time sensors such as volume counters and vehicle tracking via our proprietary Bluetooth Travel Time system.

My clients were sued by a patent holder and I served as a defense expert witness evaluating the claims of the patents and providing litigation strategy to challenge the patents as well as to invalidate the economic damages claim.I was engaged as an expert witness in this billion dollar patent dispute which centered around telecommunications, especially Automated Voice Response, an area where I am a patent holder.

As CTO oversaw the technology development of an integrated Facial Recognition technology into a Digital Video Recorder.

I recruited and lead the development team for this startup targeting the police mobile video market, my team developed an embedded Linux mobile digital video recording system for the police car (including body cams) and networked it with multiple video cameras, real time GPS positioning, full sensor input (nuclear, biological, chemical) turning each police car into an intelligent, roaming sensor network with all live video and telemetry transmitted in real time to law enforcement headquarters.

I conceived a company to use unlicensed public spectrum wireless frequencies as the last mile link. PeerLinx was the first integrated telecommunications provider offering telephone (VoIP) and Internet using unlicensed wireless networks. We created the intellectual property necessary to co-mingle voice and data simultaneously on an unmanaged, unlicensed wireless link.

IPAXS was the first to deliver very large scale Voice over IP telephone softswitch on Unix (Solaris) platform with the power and reliability necessary for large telephone carriers. This company developed technology based my Patent 4,955,054 Integrated Telecommunications System with Improved Digital Voice Response.

I recruited and lead the development team that designed a secure nationwide online real time distributed medical records system that collected over 50,000 transactions daily from hospitals and physician offices nationwide, remotely processed the information using over 3,000 home based employees, and then returned it to the appropriate healthcare facility.

My company, Precision Systems was purchased by HSN and became the subsidiary that did all the extreme technology work for Home Shopping Network. I managed 180 employees and a 12 million dollar budget. The systems I designed created the world’s largest call center and automated voice response system handling over 65 million calls annually in 1991. The first year my system went online, sales increased by over 400 million dollars. I received several US and international patents for this system.
